Introduction by curator Vanina Saracino

Finding Fanon 2 is the second work of a trilogy inspired by the lost plays of Frantz Fanon (1925-1961), a politically radical humanist whose practice dealt with the psychopathology of colonisation and the sociocultural consequences of decolonisation. In this work, David Blandy and Larry Achiampong use a videogame editor to create a simulated environment in which their digital alter-egos wander in search for Franz Fanon. This endless search, rootly related to the artist’s life and immigration background, embodies the common condition of displacement and permanent transition typical to migration, as well as the pursuit of a dream of emancipation. It is a call to action to restore the unspoken utopia in a present in which every hope in a radical change and drive to uprise has been silenced.
